| Amanda Metskas, Executive Director of Camp-Quest, wears her official camp director's hat and T-shirt as she gave a slide presentation about how much fun the kids had this past summer. Camp Quest is the first residential summer camp in the history of the United States for the children of Atheists, Freethinkers, Humanists, Brights, or whatever other terms might be applied to those who hold to a naturalistic, non-supernatural world view. |

Following her talk, Ms. Metskas conducted a "Q.& A." session, fielding questions about every aspect of the camp. Although campers enjoy some typical summer camp activities, many of the gamges and classes are dedicated to improving the human condition through rational inquiry, critical and creative thinking, scientific method, self-respect, ethics, competency, democracy, free speech, and the separation of religion and government guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States. Follow-up interviews with the campers and the counselors revealed that Camp Quest is extremely popular and a wonderful learning experience.
RBH contributes annually to the Camp Quest scholarship fund. You can learn more about the camp at www.campquest.org. |
